MBIS/MRBIS/MBISS GChEx GChG / MBOSS Am GCH Masonridge’s Right As Rain DS RN WC / AM FTN CGC

What a fun girl Rain has proven to be whether in the show ring, jumping off a dock or retrieving in the field. This girl can do it all. 2021 ended with her being not only #1 Labrador Retriever but also #3 Sporting Dog. Rain has the highest placement for a Lab in the Sporting group since before 2009.

In 2022 she made her American debut completing her American AKC championship quickly included supported entry majors and LRC Regional specialty BOSS WB enroute. Shown few weekends as a special she needs a single point for AKC grand. She is a multiple group placer in US including Sporting group 1st and OH RBIS wins.

Back home in Canada in 2022 shown very limited she continued to be noticed completing her CKC Grand Championship Gold with MBISS, BIS, MRBIS and several group placements. Pictured above earning one her BISS under breeder/judge Margaret Brown (Ramsayville Labradors UK). Rain ended the year as #3 Labrador and #1 female Labrador.

She had 2023 off from showing as had a lovely litter of puppies but we did slip in some field training and she earned her first Junior Hunt leg. Attended the fall specialty held by the Labrador Retriever Club of Ontario where she was awarded Select Female, despite not being in her best coat under breeder/judge Cheryl Curtis.

In 2024 Rain successfully completed the AKC Fetch Novice and Canine Good Citizen tests adding a couple more titles to her portfolio. She had the summer and fall off but returned to the show ring for couple specialties where she earned two Best Veteran in Sweeps (LOC under breeder judge Ellen Shearer | ALRC under breeder judge Tony Moores) and then at the LRCO specialty in November 2024 she received a JAM and Best Veteran in Specialty.

FLASH! Her daughters Evie and Aura (sired by our Preston) won Best Puppy in Specialty at the ALRC and LRCO Specialties. If that was exciting enough Aura was also awarded Winners and Best of Winners at the LRCO for a five point major. Exciting start to their careers.

Rain following earning her working certificate.
First Best in Show of 2021 from breeder/judge Pierry McLean.

Here’s a few more highlights of 2021…

Another of her Best in Specialty wins, this one from Breeder judge Valerie Walters (Ranbourne fame)
Another of her Best in Show wins, this from the respected Sandy Anderson.
The final show of 2021 included four Group One’s, a Reserve BIS and this BIS.
We had some exciting weekends in the 2021 Rain and Sharon campaign, sincerely humbled to receive #1 Lab and #3 Sporting Dog for 2021.

AND back to more recently…

Rain winning Best of Opposite in Specialty 2024 at eight years young to finish her American Grand Championship title.
Her first time out as a Veteran at an all-breed show resulted in her being awarded Best Veteran in Group by breeder/judge Thomas Alexander (Thomashenry) and Best Veteran in Show by Dr. Gail Forsyth. Truly an honour as entry included a strong lineup of veterans at both group and show levels.
At her first Canadian specialty of 2024 and first time entered in Veterans she was awarded Best Veteran in Sweeps under breeder/judge Ellen Shearer (Tableau Labradors) at the Lab Owner Club.
